12 Kits of Christmas {May}

Thursday, May 31, 2012

This month's kit comes from Joyce.  She had such a great idea to make a kit full of not Christmas, but Hanukkah supplies.  We all loved her idea and Suzanne even made a special graphic for this month's twist.

I just loved this printable paper that Joyce included.
The pattern and colors are just so cool!

I had hoped to make so much more with this kit before today.  Where did the time go??  At least when I see what all of the other ladies have made with their kits I'll still have enough supplies to copy them;)

I made this card for Ryan.
Tomorrow is our 9th wedding anniversary:)
I know it's a bit......pink!
I just couldn't resist making these pigs in pink.

I think this is my favorite picture from our wedding.  I just love the way he is holding my whole hand and his eyes are closed...So sweet:)

Have a great day!
We have a special little twist on the 12 Kits of Christmas for tomorrow.

On The Boardwalk

When I started stamping the barn background stamp onto a piece of sweet blush cardstock, I just wanted to see how the colors looked.  Halfway through, it started to remind me of those reclaimed wood painted picture frames.  I liked it!

I have to work today so I won't be around to see what you have made until tonight.  I'm looking forward to it!
I made 2 cards this time.  The first one has been one of those 'ideas to try' that rolls around in your mind until you finally do it.  That is, to use the block alphabet dies with the postage stamp die. Kind of like the LOVE free download from the anniversary celebration.
Remember that?

This second card I made out of stamped background strips that didn't end up on the original card.  I stamped the peonies onto the patterns.  It's busy, but I like it anyway:)

Thanks for stopping by!
I'll come by and see you later:)

Aren't these shoes cool?  They remind me of a pair of green and white gingham platform shoes my mom used to let me play with when I was a kid!  So much fun!

To create this card I used almost all of the sentiments in the Simply You stamp set and curved them onto the acrylic block.  It took a little maneuvering, but I finally got them the way I wanted them.

Thanks so much for your sweet comments and suggestions about my neck.
It still hurts, but I finally feel like it is getting better.  I did buy a new pillow!
Time will tell if that helps prevent this happening again.
I hope you have a great week and can find some time to join us this week at the ColourQ!!

Friday Inspiration File #68

Friday, May 18, 2012

What a tough week!  I'm so glad it's over.  I don't know how, but I strained my neck really badly.  It has been hurting since Sunday.  I finally went to the Dr. on Wednesday and she gave me some anti-inflammatory medication, but it hasn't helped much.  It's hard to interpret when it hurts to move your arms, head, and neck.  I'm looking forward to being able to really rest it this weekend and hopefully it will feel better.

Here are some projects I really loved from around the web.....#68.
Have a great weekend!
The weather here has been beautiful.
I hope it is where you are too!

Make It Monday #66 {Rolled Flowers}

I assumed that most of you knew I was a sign language interpreter.  I guess I was wrong:)  I have been an interpreter in the school system for about 15 years.  The last 3 years I have been interpreting for a girl who is now in 6th grade.  She is a great kid and endless inspiration, from the patterns on her clothes to the color combinations she puts together.  This card is inspired by the pattern on her backpack.  I loved the colors on her bag too and have used the same ones on my card!

Since she inspired the design I decided to use a sentiment to inspire her.

Thanks for stopping by!

ColourQ #137 You Are Pretty Amazing

Such pretty colors to inspire you this week from the ColourQ!!

As you may know, I am a sign language interpreter.  As soon as I saw this hand die from the Love Lives Here die set I knew I wanted to use it to make the sign for 'I love You'.  I separated the fingers with my scissors and glued the middle and ring finger down.

Thanks for coming by today.
Join us at the ColourQ this week!
