12 Kits Of Holidays {June 2013}

Sunday, June 30, 2013

This month's kit comes to us from Jeanne!
Couldn't you tell?
Some of the supplies are distinctly Jeanne like the ribbons/trims, flowers, and bling!
I got a late start on my kit this month, but you wouldn't know it.  I made 5 cards and a treat holder.  There are a ton of pictures, I'm sorry or you're welcome
{depending on how you look at it ;)}

Thanks for coming by today.
I can't wait to see what everyone else has done with their kits!
We have a special guest participating this month:

Jeanne

There are so many supplies in this kit!

Full Of Gratitude

Saturday, June 29, 2013

June must have been my lucky month.
 I won two wonderful giveaways.  For today's card I am using stamps from Clearly BesottedStephanie generously gave away four stamp sets of the winner's choice.
This card features one of the sets I chose called Many Thanks.
 {you can never have enough birthday stamps!}

I stamped the hearts in what I think is a fun, fresh color combination.
One of the girls at school had on a striped shirt in these colors and I pulled out my notebook to jot it down.

To create the pink layer I traced around the die itself and cut it out to create a mat.
 It's a little trick I picked up a long time ago from Sarah Gough

I was also the lucky winner of a giveaway on Elena's blog.  I won Clear and Simple Stamps sets and dies!  I have two cards so far with those sets.  You can see them here and here.

Thanks again Elena and Stephanie!

Friday Favorites {FIF #123}

Friday, June 28, 2013

Knock Knock sells some fun and funny list pads.

Are you a list maker?
I am, always have been.
 There's nothing I like more than crossing things off of my To Do list!
I've only been on summer break for 4 days and I have gotten so many things done.
Some lists I keep in my phone, but the act of writing lists of things I need to do helps me to clear my mind and relax.  Sounds strange I know, but my fellow list makers probably know what I mean.

One of the projects I have been working on is organizing my kitchen.  Clearing out things we don't use, organizing pantry shelves, etc.  One of my goals in there is to reduce the amount of garbage we create from things like paper towels, plastic wrap, and snack bags.  These little reusable snack bags are perfect for replacing the snack bags we use for our lunches.  They are made of materials that do not harm your health as well.  They are not cheap, but I picked mine up at TJMaxx for $4.99.  You can even make them yourself if you are handy with a sewing machine
{which I am not}.

It's Friday, so I have added some of my favorite projects to the file.
Check them out.
Have a great weekend!

Camera Shy

Thursday, June 27, 2013

This card did not want to be photographed.  No matter what I did, change the time of day, change the background, it didn't matter.  I never did like having my picture taken either.  I guess that's why I'm always the one with the camera.  Everyone counts on me to take the pictures at family events and that's fine with me!

To create the XOXO banner strips I sprayed black color shine spary onto
white paper using an animal print stencil.
I let that dry and then dripped gold color shine on top of the black.
When that was dry, I die cut the borders and then sprayed them with a fixative.  The color shine sprays will come off on your hands and if they get wet they will reactivate.
 To prevent both of those things, I sprayed the fixative.

Hope you're having a great week!

You Warm My Heart

Wednesday, June 26, 2013

Hello again!
Today I have a bright card to share with you using the colors from this week's Tuesday Trigger.
The colors are so perfect for summer.  If you follow me on Instagram you know I just bought these same colors in nail polish on Monday!  I have all three colors on my nails now.
Why not?

These polishes are great because the bottles are small and inexpensive.
I don't mind paying more for my everyday nail polishes, but for fun colors like this that I don't wear very often I like having the option of getting a few colors for the price of one!

Have a great day!

PTI June Blog Hop {Touch Of Gold}

Tuesday, June 25, 2013

I'm back again, this time with a project for the PTI monthly blog hop.
This month's theme is A Touch of Gold.
I've added gold embossing to my project 3 ways.
The first way is simply stamping with versamark ink.  I stamped the third step of these roses with versamark and embossed.  The second way is with an embossing ink pen.  I followed the embossed groove in the circle die cut.  The 3rd way is using a strip of scor-tape.  I wanted a perfectly straight line.  I sprinkled the embossing powder onto the scor-tape and embossed.

Thanks for hopping by.
Don't forget to check out the new ColourQ colors and play along!

ColourQ #195

Tuesday, June 25, 2013

Good Morning!
I'm late to the party today.
By now you've probably seen all of the other DT projects.
Gorgeous, aren't they?

I hope you'll join us this week with this unique color combination.
To create my spotty background I used a stencil and my daubers to concentrate the colors in some areas and let the color fade out in other areas.

Thanks for stopping by this morning!

Ice Cream Date Night

Sunday, June 23, 2013

Hello!
Taking a break from the heat to pop inside and post
a little card I made using a stencil and my daubers.
We just had a sun shower so hopefully that will cool things off a bit.

I used three different ink colors to create the spots.
I tried to camouflage him, but also make him stand out.

Hope you're having a wonderful weekend.
Ryan and I have an ice cream date tonight in the hot rod!
